Easy run with Clayson and Zack.

I had to do my own run today because I had work this morning when the team was running. I did the Grove Creek run from my house. Overall pace was about 6:30, but it was about 6:45-7:00 on the way to the canyon, and 6:00-6:15 pace back to my house.

Easy run today after two intense games of indoor tag. 

5x1000m alternating at 35 second 200, then 45 second 200 throughout for a 3:15 at the end. Clayson already did it earlier today so by the end it was just Little Warner, Mike, and I. Tawny kept getting mad at the girls for being either really fast or slow, whereas we were within a half a second on every 200.

Today the coaches weren't there so we had a 7x5x4x3x2 tempo run going on east on the Murdock canal. I felt really good on the first three, and terrible on the last two. On the seven minute one I stayed with Clayson the whole time, and I'm pretty sure we were under 5 minute pace. On each one after that Clayson gapped me by more and more, but I was still hauling. On the way back to the school I had to stop at my cousins house to go to the bathroom.

Hogs Hollow today with Clayson, Lil Warner, and Mike. We did it so fast today, and if us three healthy ones can really do good at nike we've still got a shot.

Tag then an easy run. Lil Warner wrecked his face on a door during indoor tag and might need to get stitches.

Today we had a workout on the track. 600, 400, 600, 400, 600, 400, 600, 400. I felt really good and all of my 400's were at 68 or under, with a 64 on the last one. I hate 600's because we do them at the exact same pace as the 400's so I would come through at 68, then have to just hang on for the lasat 200. I don't what our times were on those because Tawny was only timing at the 400 mark, but they were probably around 1:45.

Tag plus about 4.5 miles.

10x400 with 1 min rest. Times ranged inbetween 67-69 on all of them except for one 70.Jon anad Mahonri were no more than a second or two behind me on all of them, and Jon ran a 60 on the last one. I was getting kind of worried about our shot at nationals with all of our injuries, but now I think we are almost back at full strength.

We ran up on the trail that goes to grove creek. It was really cold and started snowing a little.

It was snowing this morning so I ran at like 6 pm. 8 miles with 4 1minute pickups.

We ran down to AF and back. We saw Connor Mcmillan driving on the way back.

400, 200, 400, 200, 400, 200. They felt pretty easy and I think we are peaking just right for Nike on Saturday. Times were 70, 31, 67, 30, 63, 30.

Today we woke up and went downstairs for breakfast, and decided to go down to the course later than everybody else in Ryan's car.We got there at 10 and started warming up. We checked out the course and it was so wrecked. The entire course was covered in a couple of inches of mud, and the little ditch that we had to run through 4 times was filled with 6 inches of water. We got back to our spot and somebody had stolen Jon's spikes so he had to race in his trainers. We got to the line and had to wait for 15 minutes as they announced everybody. When the gun went off everybody went out pretty fast and it was a nightmare trying to move up in the pack. After about 200 meters the mud started and there was no longer a single dry spot on the course. I was with a couple AF and Orem kids for a while during the first mile, and when we came through it was so crowded that I couldn't see what the clock said. On the second mile I just ran with a couple Ogden kids and Caleb from AF. Two mile split was 10:32 and my legs were so dead from all the mud that I felt like I was walking. Throughout the course there was four spots where we had to run down into these little ditches that were filled with about 6 inches of water, and on the last one I almost fell over going through it. In the final 200 meters I was in the middle of a giant pack that I couldn't really get out of so I just kind of finished with all of them. My time was really slow, but that was because of the mud which is a bummer because I really wanted to go sub 16 for a full 5k, but whatever. Our team got 15th because we had 4 guys injured. I was so mad that Davis qualified for nationals after we destroyed them at state, but it was mostly out of our control. Now I just want to go and compete for the win in the Frosh/Soph all star race at Footlocker.

Went on a run around the golf course behind our hotel. Had to hop a couple fences to get on this really cool trail until this guy got mad at me and I had to leave.

Went to Red Mountain High School to use their track for a workout and it just so happened that their cross country team was doing exactly half the amount of intervals I was doing with double the rest. We started together and then they did every other one with me. I did 8x400 at 65, 67, 66, 68, 63, 69, 69, 69. Afterwards I cooled down and went to the best Mexican restraint ever.

I decided to sign up for a 10k tomorrow so I just went for an easy 3.

Woke up at 5:30 and we drove out to Mesa at 6:30 only to find out that my race was at 9:00. I just slept in the back of the car for two hours then started warming up about twenty minutes before the 10k started. I did some strides then lined up in the front by a kid that was wearing a Corona Del Sol jersey, and another guy who said that he was from Utah. It was a pretty big race and had probably about 3000 people running it. The gun went off and After about 100 meters I was in about 6th place. There was a group of about 5 guys that separated from everybody and about 800 meters in a pack of 5 guys came up with me. We just ran together through the next couple of mile markers which were supposed to have clocks at them but didn't, so I had no clue how fast we were going except for that we were hauling. At the 5k marker we had dropped one of the guys and had passed one of the guys who had gone out with the lead pack, and we came through in the 16:30's somewhere. The next 2 miles I kept trying to drop this one kid but he would always come back. We hit the 5 mile marker and started to really pick up the pace on a slight downhill. The last 400 meters were in a park and once we got there it was down to three of us in a battle for fifth. We came around the final turn and on the last little hill before the final 100 meters I just died and the two other guys pulled ahead and I just couldn't match it. In the end I was seventh in 33:46. I came in hoping for somewhere around 35-36 minutes so I was very happy when I saw the time was under 34. Afterwards I cooled down and waited around for the awards ceremony, then headed back to get ready for Thanksgiving!

Got into our hotel in St George at like 11:30, so I ended up just going for an easy 30 minutes on the treadmill.
