Today was the BYU Autumn Classic. We got there and ran the course once. It was really muddy going up the first hill and then the whole way up and down the baseball was super deep. We chilled under the pavilion and watched the races until the start of the Womens college race, and we warmed up. We were one of the five teams picked to win so they announced our name and we ran out into the field and cheered. We had the girls go pick our spot for us and of course they chose lane 1, which was the worst spot. The gun went off and I told myself I wasn't going to go out too fast, which was a mistake. I ended up stuck in the middle of a huge pack going up the hill. I was trying to move up on people and ended up using my hands more then my feet for the first three quarters of a mile. I came to a complete stop a couple of times at the baseball field. Once down onto the track I was able to really move and probably passed 20+ people. Going along the hedge on the back of the grass once you get off the track I finally caught up to Walton. For the next mile we worked together and passed a bunch of people. Once we went through the track for the second time we caught a pack of guys from Westlake. The whole last mile we went back and forth. Once we hit the track I realized Mike was only five seconds ahead of me and I tried to catch him. Once we hit two hundred meters to go him and the Westlake kids took off. I was disappointed with my time until I heard it was quite a bit longer. We got second as a team to Davis, and we would have beaten them if Mike hadn't of been sick. Clayson won, and Little Warner was top ten.
