| Easy five before pre-region tomorrow. We went west on the canal which we have never done before. We did pick up the pace a little when it started pouring rain because it's just so fun running in the rain.

| Today was Pre-Region. It was at Westlake this time on the exact course that they used at the invitational last year. Going in I was hoping for 16:20's. We warmed up then headed over to the start. It took forever for them to get it going, along with AF starting up everyone singing the national anthem which was another couple minutes. The gun finally went off and I made sure to get out pretty good. I was in about tenth coming around the first turn. By the time we were running along the fence I was in eighth and the only people ahead of me were Austin Brower, Rory, and five guys on my team. It stayed this way until about 1200m in a couple people passed me. My first mile we came through at like 5:08- 5:09. That is much too fast. I started to lay off the gas a little but then Ryan and Dustin were yelling at me to get up next to Mike so I did and it just about killed me. My two mile split was 10:37. On the last mile I just flat out died. I figure I must have run like 5:53 on it or something horrible like that. With 800m to go Walton passed me and I just couldn't go with him. He ended up running 15 seconds faster then me. I finished at what felt like long run pace. New PR but I know thatI could run a lot faster with good pacing. I ended up seventh on our team, but we took second! AF won pretty soundly but we beat Westlake, and beat Riverton pretty soundly. I got in before Rivertons fourth man which was good.

| Today our workout was 7x800m. We got over to the field and started. They started out feeling pretty good, but were kinda slow. 2:40, 2:43, 2:44, 2:45, 2:45, 2:48, 2:43. I don't know why it was so hard to run today but it was rough.

| Missed practice this morning so I did my own run. I was planning on doing 9 miles getting faster each mile which was going perfectly through mile 4. splits were 7:50, 7:33, 7:10, 6:45. Then I turned left onto Canyon road and was blasted with wind so I just decided to run it in at normal pace. I had to go home early because of lightning.
