Crazy run today. I went with Patrick Larkin from AF, and we went up to dry canyon to run. We got to the top of the canyon and turned left to go connect with Battlecreek and the snow got really deep. We kept going, and ended up accidentally following elk tracks instead of humans and ended up on top of the mountain to right of Battlecreek. The cliff was too steep to drop down into the canyon so we had to bushwhack down the ridge. It was pretty steep, really overgrown, and we were going through like four foot deep powder at times. It took us a while and I was starting to get worried that there wouldn't be an opportunity to drop in, and we'd be stuck. We were out of the sun and it was getting really cold. Eventually we got to a little gully and we just went for it and dropped down to the canyon floor. Really steep and sketchy but we made it. When we got to the bottom we were in a lot of pain from the cold and hitchhiked back to my car in Orem. Fun stuff. |
