Freedom Run 10k today. I got there and warmed up for a bit before heading to the starting line. I saw a few guys who had beaten me in track once or twice so I knew it would be honest. The gun went off and a group of four guys took off, while I just settled into the chase pack of about five or six of us. Now that I look back I probably went out too fast, but I didn't really have an option because if I lost contact with that pack I probably wouldn't make it back up. We were all together and moving quickly down the main road where they have the parade and no one really broke away from thhe pack until with four miles to go Zack Jacklin took off. By that time It was down to me, two older guys, and Spencer Palmer from PG. with one mile to go as soon as we turned to go up the hill they all took off and I just wasn't feeling good enough to go with them. I had been feeling crappy all race and just didn't have it in the legs to run fat that last mile. I was kinda bummed out because Spencer had never beaten me before, but I guess its good to get bad races out before they actually matter. My time was awful, but I did get a cool little trophy for placing in my age division. Next up on the racing schedule is Deseret News.

Later I was bored so I spent 10 minutes scoring the race XC style by age division. I found it interesting that the 16-19 and 25-24 age divisions were so much better than the 20-24 yr olds. Here are the results I put together:
