Me and Ashton found out last night that there was a race in Blanding, and since we couldn't do the freedom run we thought this would be cool instead. We got there and warmed up for about half a mile before we headed to the start line. The race started and some girl from Lehi jumped out to the front but faded after about 50 meters. The first half of the race was all uphill so I was planning on just sitting behind the leaders until we turned down the other way and try to gap them on the downhill. There was one kid out front that I was following from Bear River. He said he ran a 15:41 last season but I guess something wasn't right because I was keeping up no problem. Once we turned and started the downhill I guess he had the same idea and he started picking up the pace. We both were trying to pull away but everytime I would try he would match and vice versa. Finally  we could see the final turn and going into it about 200 meters left he had me by 10 meters and was surging hard. I thought he had me until I saw something was wrong with him. right when we turned into the home straight he stopped and puked all over the road. I saw this as my oppurtunity and passed him and with 100 to go I looked behind me and he was still puking, so I just jogged it in. I was surprised with how I did considering Ive been camping for three days and eating a bunch of crap, and basically not preparing right at all. The time cold have been a lot faster, but a win is a win. Afterward I won 60 dollars to the local grocery store so I went and bought like a million boxes of wheat thins.

Personally, I like the sun-dried tomato and basil wheat thins the best. But my mom bought this kind made out of rice. They're gross. Good job on the win, especially without prepping for it at all.
