Volunteered at the Timp half from 3:30 to 7:00 up at Tibble Fork, then ran down the canyon to our cars. We were going about 6:00 pace the last few miles because it was downhill, and it felt easy. saw the Timpanogos guys running up.

First run in my new shoes today. It was overcast and there was light showers throughout the run which made for an excellent time. We did black trail with some extra detours through the riverbed and such. When we were on the road we got going pretty quick, like 6:10-6:30's. The one and only Dominic came to practice today, and apparently is coming to camp which will be a good time.

Had a two mile tempo today. We ran down behind Lone Peak to do it, and started on the trail over by the golf course. Zack and I stuck together for the first mile and a quarter, then I pulled ahead a bit and ran by myself for the last part. There was confusion with the watches so we ended up being like .1 miles short, but it was a good effort so I was ok with it. I am not sure what the pace was exactly, but I think I was around 5:05-5:15 pace on the whole thing. Aerobically I felt great, now I just need to start getting the speed in.When we got back to the park we did 6x100 meter strides and ice bathed after at the mouth of the canyon.

First day of camp. We ran from Sundance up to Stewart Falls, then down to Aspen Grive and back on the road for a couple miles. Fun run.

In the morning did the Ridge trail. There is a pretty good hill from 2 miles all the way to 4.5 so that kinda hurt but overall a very pleasant run.

Later we went up to Scout Falls. Cole Gray came and did it with us which was really fun.

For our run today we ran up Timpenooke road until we got to where we could see Mt. Mahogany then turned around. It had started raining about 4:30 that morning, and it never really stopped until we got home. The first four miles were all uphill, and we did them at a solid pace. At the top we waited for the top 7 and Ryan, then headed down. Ryan was actually pushing the pace going down, and at one point we were going close to 5:30 pace. After we got back to camp we took down our hammocks, ate some pancakes, and left.

Alpine Days today. I went to Mission Impossible last night and didn't get home until 1:30 so I was pretty tired, but the movie was pretty dope so it was worth it. The race started and I just tucked in with Zack, Jamison, and Patrick from AF. The first mile was mostly uphill and we came through in 5:45, I felt pretty good. Once we got to the top of the hill Patrick and I started to pull away and when we hit the two mile mark we really picked it up. The last mile is decently downhill so we were flying. I am not sure what our last couple mile splits were, but afterwards Patrick said we were going 4:33 pace when he looked at his watch. I stayed right on his tail for the entire last mile, but with about 300 to go he kicked and I just didn't have the speed to go with him. Overall a good race and 30 seconds faster than I ran last year.

A few easy miles on four mile loop, which as it turns out is just short of four miles. Getting excited for some mile repeats tonight.

Turned out we did 4x1k's instead of miles, but I was ok with that. 15 minute warm up while we put the cones in place and measured out the course. After the first one we realized it was .03 short because we ran like 2:51 so we moved it to where it was accurate. It would have been like a 3:00-3:02 though. Next two were 3:05 and 3:05, then the last one was a 3:02. We only did 4 because it was the first interval session of the season, but it felt like I could have done more. I was happy we kept them all under 5 minute pace, and I felt very controlled the whole time, and the team looked great. Good stuff overall. Unshoutout to Justin who didn't show up.

Solid Distance run on extended mountain run. Everybody was a little tired from yesterday, so we didn't go too fast, but still kept it all under 7:30 pace. Once we got back we did about a mile barefoot, then 6x100m strides.

Didn't run today, but climbed Lone Peak instead and was just too tired to go later. It was 15 miles of steep hiking, so I'll just call it 10 miles of running. Lots of fun, and had an awesome time watching the meteor shower at 4 in the morning while lying in my hammock trying not to freeze to death lol. Almost 6000 feet of climbing from where we started.

Today we ran up Squaw peak. Felt ok going up, but had to stop to retie my shoe because my foot fell asleep. Coming down our last couple miles we got going pretty fast. Afterwards we had a scrumptious breakfast at Timpanogos park.

As a tradition on the last day of summer we always go play tag at the pond. Ran down, played three solid games then ran back for about nine miles.

Later did a few by myself as a way to officially put a cap on the summer.

Tough workout today. It was like a bajillion degrees outside, and the grass on the field looked like it hadn't been cut in months. The workout was 400, 1600, 1200, 800, 800, 400. Times were 75, 5:06, 3:50, 2:27, 2:25, and 65. Didn't feel great at the beginning but as the workout progressed I felt better and better. Zack wasn't feeling great, but luckily Jamison had a good day so we ran together the whole time until the last 400. We were supposed to hit 70, then Craik ran by me with like 200 to go and me, him, and Justin ended up racing it in. Real good stuff from the team today.

9 rough miles in the heat after school on Bonneville. The air quality is crap right now with all the smoke, and I really hope it clears up soon.

Good luck to everybody racing at Highland in like 15 minutes.

We were supposed to do nine, but everybody was feeling bad so we cut it short at like 6.5. Later Justin, Craik, Steven, and I a went for an easy four miles at Legacy. Night runs are the best.

Shoutout to all the St. George dudes, because running in the 95 degree heat has been killing me. Mad respect.

5x600m hills today. Felt really good and hit much faster times then I ever have before. Times were 1:59, 1:58, 1:54, 1:55, 1:57. Stayed with Zack on all of them until the last one where he ran 1:52! Our entire top 6 was all averaging around 2:00 or better on all of these, which has never happened before. I don't want to get too excited this early, but I think this could be a very very good team.

6x800 on the grass field by the seminary building. Weather was a cool 69 degrees today which made for some fast times. We hit 2:28, 2:25, 2:23, 2:23, 2:20, 2:16. Felt really good today and everybody ran really well. Lil Warner came today and was able to keep up on all of them. The course turned out to be .015ish short so they were all about 1-2ish seconds fast, but still a great workout. Afterwards we hit up our usual ice bath spot at the mouth of the canyon. Dom and Emily came to the workout today. Dom struggled, but Emily was beating all the girls but Lauren and Amanda lol.

Good loop through Alpine. Once we hit Alpine highway we were going a decent pace, like 6:10ish. Word on the street is that Mckay Johns got a stress fracture, and if it is true grass relays just got very interesting. Without Mckay in the running for AF I think we may just have a shot at winning!

Grass Relays today! The day started off well for us with Craik winning the frosh soph race in an epic showdown with Bryson King, that came down to the last 50. We chilled until the Varsity race started, then I warmed up. Zack ran first and did decent. I think it would have been better to run me first and Zack last because it would suit our styles better, cuz Zack doesn't like going out fast and they went out very fast. He ended up in 10:31. Next was Justin who ran 10:35 and caught a few teams. Seth ran 10:38, and Jamison ran 10:28. Jamison got me into third place, and I was about 18ish seconds behind Will Handley from Timpanogos, and about 10 seconds ahead of Spencer Ford from Desert Hills. I basically ran in no mans land the entire time, lapping the occasional team, but really just grinding it out by myself. Will put a bigger gap on me, but I ended up widening our gap on Desert Hills, so that was good. It was pretty much just really hot and lonely, and I wish I had gone first, cuz I think I could have been around 10:10. I had no idea what time I ran, but I didn't get an award so I thought I was over 10:30, but then when results were posted it said I was 14th in 10:22! What the cuss Timo! Haha, anyways we set our new team time record by 2 seconds and ran the 8th fastest time ever, beating some very good Desrt Hills and Lehi teams in the process.

Shoutout to Connor Baller because he got cussed out of a plaque as well after running an excellent time of 10:18.

In the morning I was going to meet Walton for a run, but he slept in so I went by myself. Drove up the canyon and did thirty easy minutes on the ridge trail. An almost full moon illuminated most of the trail so I barely had to use my headlamp which was nice.

Later we had 10x400 on the grass field. I forgot my socks( a pretty common occurrence because I wear sandals to school everyday), so I did them all barefoot. I don't know if it was that, or if it was just my day but I felt REALLY good today. Times were 70, 69, 68, 67, 66, 65, 65, 65, 65, 60. On the last one Craik took off and I couldn't let him win that easy, so I went and raced him even though I wasn't supposed too. Afterwards we went to the mouth of the canyon to ice bath, but the girls had infiltrated our spot so we moved upstream to the dam. It's actually a lot better and you can jump in and fully submerge yourself.
