Alpine Days today. I went to Mission Impossible last night and didn't get home until 1:30 so I was pretty tired, but the movie was pretty dope so it was worth it. The race started and I just tucked in with Zack, Jamison, and Patrick from AF. The first mile was mostly uphill and we came through in 5:45, I felt pretty good. Once we got to the top of the hill Patrick and I started to pull away and when we hit the two mile mark we really picked it up. The last mile is decently downhill so we were flying. I am not sure what our last couple mile splits were, but afterwards Patrick said we were going 4:33 pace when he looked at his watch. I stayed right on his tail for the entire last mile, but with about 300 to go he kicked and I just didn't have the speed to go with him. Overall a good race and 30 seconds faster than I ran last year. |
