Tough but good workout today. 600, 400, 600, 400, 600, 400, 400, 400. Times were 1:38, 62, 1:40, 62, 1:44, 63, 64, 64. Felt tough cuz it was blazing hot, but got through it and stayed on reasonably on pace. overall good stuff.

Started out as a radventure run, then turned and went to Mitchell Hollow and played fish out of water for a while before going back. Pretty solid run today.

Short speedy workout today, 3x(400, 300). The only thing that made it tough was that we only had 75 seconds of rest in between reps. Times were 62, 45, 62, 45, 62, 45. Stayed right with Zack on all of them, then raced Craik on the last one.

So I didn't actually run today due to exhaustion. I was workoing on finishing my AP Art portfolio which was due today, from 8 last night to 8 this morning, then I had to go to school. I'm not used to pulling all nighters and decided running just wasn't in the cards.

BYU today. I woke up and was still feeling dead tired from the night before, but I hopped in the car and drove down to BYU still hoping to PR and qualify. Right before the race I took a couple caffiene shots and I think they helped a bit. Gun went off and I got in good position. Came through the 400 in 64, then moved into second behind Heston Anderson. chilled there for the whole second lap and came through in 2:11. On the third lap I actually took the lead on the back stretch, then with 450 to go Alek Parsons and a couple other guys came past me. At this point my tiredness caught up to me and I faded. Still ended up running a 4:26 but I should have qualified :/. Cooled down 3 miles with Justin and Josh, and Justin barfed like three times haha.

Later did the 800 in the medley. It got windy and cold right during our race, and I wasn't too pumped. Ammon and Trey actually did a pretty good job in the 200's, then Colin dropped a couple spots in the 400 and I got the stick in 8th. I was a couple seconds behind Joe Benson, so I just told myself to try and catch him and I'd be happy. Came through in like 59, and caught Joe at the 500. Came through 600 and had a good cushion on either side so I just kinda coasted in. ended up running 2:02, but it felt really easy which was a good sign. Anyways, now Im gonna get good sleep and kill it at region.

Nice and short speed workout today before region. Just 4, 3, 2, 4, 3, 2. Was feeling pretty good and hit the times on all of them. Times were 59, 45, 28, 59, 45, 28. Fun stuff overall.

Easy to the mouth of the canyon and back. Did some strides after, then went in the gym and played 7 on the line for an hour before the bbq. Ready to win tomorrow.

Region two mile today. Got a solid warm up in, then watched the slow heat and started. Immediately 3 Westlake guys went to the front and led for the first 1200. At this point their coach told them to stop cuz we were all just drafting off of them so they went back and I went to the lead. Came through the mile in a very modest 4:55. For the next little while Justin, Adam Wood, and I kind of switched off leading like every 200 pretty much. With 1k to go I decided it was a good time to try and separate from the rest of the field, so I surged and it worked perfectly, the top 4 broke away and got a nice gap on everyone else. With 300 to go Ryan said that we had big gap and just coast it in, so I maintained my pace and ended up getting 4th in 9:44. It was definitely the easiest 9:44 I've ever run, and I feel like I could definitely go under 9:30 at state if I have a good race. Excited for tomorrow, hopefully I can get qualified in the other two events. Afterwards cooled down on golf course with the PG guys.

Last Region meet today. started out with the mile, it went ok. Definitely not what I was looking for, but whatever. First three laps were fine, splits of 65, 2:11, 3:18, then my butt tightened up and I felt like I just couldn't run fast. I watched the other guys pull away and it was kinda sad. FInished in 4:27. Next up was the 800. I had like 30 minutes and I tried to stretch out as much as I could. Strides felt really hard, but I still wanted to race. Gun went off and I immediately wemt to the back, probably about 12th place. I just chilled there the whole first lap and came in around 59 or 60. Second lap I realized I wasn't as tired as I thought I was and Craik and I kicked past like 5 guys in the final 250 and finished in 1:59 for him, and 2:00 for me. Got seventh overall. I think if I had gone out faster I couldve been in the hunt for qualifying, but I'm happy with a PR. Not quite the region meet I wanted, but now I am hungry to go run fast in the 3200 at state.

Last race of high school. Got a good warmup and got to the line feeling pretty good. The weather was pretty crappy. It was pouring rain and really cold. Gun went off and I got out in pretty good position. I tucked in behind a big pack of dudes and just locked onto Talon Hull's back. I stayed there tthru the mile where we came in at 4:44 I think. With about 400 to go I made a move past Talon and Ethan Field and came up onto Connor at 300 to go. Once I passed him he kicked away with Ryan, but I held off all the other guys and finished strong in a 67 with a PR. It's kind of a bummer cuz i'm finally feeling 100% back from my sickness, and the seasaon is over. Fun race to finish on tho, and Zack and Jamison ran really well. Shoutout to Ryan for having the fastest final lap in 61.
