Adam's Running

I haven't been able to run in a week because I got really sick so I thought today would be awful, but it wasn't that bad. I was able to do 6.5 miles at 7 minute pace so I don't think I lost too much fitness. Tomorrow will be the real indicator though, because we have hill repeats. Walton was supposed to come to practice today but he never showed up. I was talking to him yesterday and ever since he graduated he's been living out of his car on the pacific coast, and traveling around working at organic farms and hippie communes and stuff. He seemed genuinely happy and it made me think of what I want to do with my life,  and I have no idea.

Today we had hill repeats on Dustin's hill. I started and was feeling like crap so I just ran with Jamison on most of them. I was only able to do 4, and they were pretty slow. Times were 2:38, 2:39, 2:40, 2:42. I can tell I lost a good amount of fitness last week, and I don't think I have fully recovered because I could barely breathe and I just felt weak today.

Later I mountain biked up Hog's Hollow, then went down corner canyon on the Rush trail. It was probably the aweesomest trail I've ever been on, but at the bottom I wrecked pretty hard. My bike was in no shape to go back up the canyon so I had to call my dad and have him pick me up clear over in Draper. Some solid biking though.

Missed practice this morning because my knee was hurting from my crash yesterday, but it was feeling fine later in the day so I was able to get a solid run in. Went on the Bonneville Shoreline trail to the dip thing and turned around. Felt good, but was very hot. 

Spent most of the day boating, then we went up the canyon so I didn't have time to run until 10:30. Easy canyon road loop by myself, lots of fireworks which was cool.

Solid run today. Marc, Zack, and I ran to AF canyon and went up for a couple miles before turning around. This was just one of those runs that give you confidence going forward into the season. 

Hogs Hollow today. Lil' Warner wasn't there so I decided to not go all out like we usually do, and instead just keep a good pace throughout. It was a fun run and we stopped at sliding rock on the way down which was nice and refreshing.
