BYU indoor today! It was a lot of fun. We got there and I warmed up for the mile, I was hoping to be in the fast heat but I ended up being in the second to fastest :(. It was still a great race though, the gun went off and I got great position in second behind Shane Henderson in second. Eventually he dropped off, but as he did Zack came by and I filed in behind him. The two of us led laps 3 and 4 then as we hit 300 to go Patrick Parker came by us and just took off. From there I just hung on to Zack and made sure nobody else passed me. I ended up in 4:33 which I was very pleased with. That's like a 4:31 1600, and I haven't had a single hard effort since nationals a month ago. I was looking at old results and my time would have been top 6 almost any other year, but I got 12th haha. Afterwards I went and grabbed some food from Panda, then took a nap for a couple hours. When it was time for the 800 I warmed up with Seth, then went and sat in the bullpen for a while. I was in horrible position on the line, so when the race started I let everyone go ahead and went to the back. I just chilled there for the first 400 and came through in like 64 high haha. Once we hit one lap to go I threw in a surge and passed everyone in the field but one guy and tried to reel him in but he had to much of a head start. Time was 2:07.1 so my last 400 was like a 62. It felt surprisingly easy, and when I finished I felt fine which is weird for an 800. I think if I get in a fast race where I get dragged to a fast 400 I could run in the 2:01-2:03 range right now. Afterwards Lil' Warner and I went on like a 4.5 mile cool down up this massive steep hill then back down to campus on some trails. I think I'm in shape to PR at these next couple indoor races.
