Today was the BYU Invite. We left at about 7:15 and had a long time before we raced, so Jamison and I went and set up camp in the baseball field stands. We played risk and watched the races until the Varsity girls, then went and warmed up. The college race was fun to watch, and Connor Mcmillan killed it and got fifth. I wasn't feeling too great during the warmup and strides, but luckily when the gun went off I felt fine. I got out decently, but still was pretty far behind the leaders and had to spend the whole first 1200 or so moving around and past people. This forced me to settle down and going out a little slower helped me. The whole next mile I just slowly moved up, passing people and moving into the top ten. We hit the last  lap and I was still feeling really good, so I waited until we got out of the baseball field then moved past a group of three or four guys to move into sixth. I was able to hold those guys off and started closing the gap to fourth and fifth, but ran out of real estate. I have never felt that strong at the end of a race, and it felt awesome. I got to stand on the podium, and they gave me a shirt which was pretty cool. We got sixth as a team, but with Lil' Warner we would have gotten fourth or maybe third (It would have been a 90-100 point swing!). Overall a super fun race.

They said it was a 3 mile, but it was 3.2-3.3 on everybody's gps watches.

nice race! With everyone's good performance and with lil' warner, we should be able to take down Lehi. In the deseret news it says top 10 finishers from boys and girls varsity. You're in the newspaper!

Nice job over the Weekend! Sounds like it was a tough race with the unexpected extra distance.
