Adam's Running

Solid run up the canyon today. I was feeling very good today, which was nice since Jamison, Zack, and I were hauling from the mouth to Timp Cave. It was foggy and pretty nice temperature, making it an absolutely beautiful run. We don't run up AF canyon as much as we should.

Fun run in Alpine today. Missed practice this morning, but we had a pretty good little group of people running after school which was nice. Kept it pretty easy, probly like 7:20 ish pace for most of it. Life is good right now, really good.

Fun run today, we did something different than we usually do so that was exciting. First we ran to AF and did a lap on their track, then we ran over to AF jr and did a lap on their track, then Mountain Ridge, then finished at Lone Peak. Strength training after. Good times overall.

Alpine loop easy for pre race, with some strides.

4x800 at the oval today. We got there early and watched the mile which was crazy fast, then chilled until it was time to warm up. Jamison was our first leg and he gave it to me in the lead so that was nice because I didn't have to fight for position. I got it and took off at a good pace. I think I ran like 2:04-2:05ish which I was happy with since I was in the lead by myself the whole time. I think with competition I could run around 2:00 right now. Anyways I handed off to Justin who maintained our lead, then he gave it to Zack. This was where things got crazy. Zack kept the lead the whole first lap, but Talon Hull was closing in hard and by the time they hit 100 to go they were pretty much side by side. With like 50 left Talon passed Zack and I thought we had lost, but then miraculously in the last 10 meters Zack surged and barely nipped Talon at the line. Crazy stuff. Our time was 8:17 so like 2:04 average, which is pretty good with zero speed workouts since before nationals in December. It's too bad they don't run the 4x800 really during outdoors, cuz I think we could run sub 8:00 come May. Overall a fun time, and shoutout to the Weber guys for a great race.

Two mile today. Gun went off and I filled in right with the front pack. we were hitting 72's and 73's and came through the mile in like 4:50. Stayed right there in the top group until about 600 to go the front 5 guys took off and I just couldn't match that kind of speed right now. Tried hanging on to Travis Feeney the last lap, but he surged away with 200 to go, then Brody Smith from Wyoming passed me with like 50 to go. Final time was 9:38.05. I ended up beating Jamison by 1/100th of a second, and I stayed ahead of Colton Rimman who has beaten me at this race the past two years by like a second, so that was good. Overall a fun race, and 9:38 is right where I need to be right now. Justin ran 9:49 in th second heat, then we went and cooled down with Joe and Will from Timpanogos.
