We got to the race at 9:00 so Clayson and Jamison could sign up for the 800, and when registering they told us to go upstairs to get the bibs. We got up there and there was couches and a big window overlooking the whole track, and we set up camp on a couple of the couches. We had a ton of time to kill so we just chilled out and took a nap until Clayson and Jamison had to race. It was much nicer than under the bleachers like yesterday. Clayson got fifth in the 800 in 1:59 and Jamison ran 2:15. We thought it would be pretty quick until the two mile but the 200 took almost two hours, and we were pretty bored. Finally when it was time to warm up I went and spun for a while because I forgot my running shoes. I was in the fast heat so we went first. The gun went off and we went out at a good pace. Our first 400 was 74, which was perfect and we were still in a pretty big group. The next couple of laps felt good and I was hitting 75's on each of the 400 splits, and I came through the mile in 5:00. The leaders were still only 5 meters ahead of me, and I was just hanging on Colton Rimmans shoulder from Davis. The next three laps were brutal, I have honestly never been in so much pain during a race. I just tried to hold the pace and on the last lap I tried to kick, but those straightaways seemed so long. I ended up trying to lean across to get sub 10 but I ended up being .2 seconds off. I was pretty mad I didn't break 10 but it was a huge PR for me which was nice. I also got top ten which was kind of cool. After that we drove home and Clayson got pulled over for speeding. It was pretty funny because the whole car ride we were talking about tickets amd driving and stuff, but he was lucky enough to get away with a warning.
