Deseret News 10k today. Drove up last night and hammocked about 400 meters from the start line with Seth and Craik. Woke up at about 5:15, took down everything, then got a pretty good warmup in. Gun went off and I made sure to get out pretty hard. Hit the downhill and got in a little pack with Connor and Seth. First mile was 4:40, which was a bit fast but not problematically fast. Next couple miles switched off leading with Seth and Connor, hit 9:42 at two miles, and 15:00 at 3. At this point Ryan Raff caught up to us and helped push us through the next mile, and hit like 20:10 at four miles. I don't remember our 5 mile split, but Seth had dropped off at this point and I was just trying to hang on to Connor and Ryan the best I could. I held on until the last stretch which is like 1200 long and I was hurting pretty bad. Ryan pulled away pretty good, and Connor ended up beating me by about the same amount as the freedom run. Finished in 32:01, so two seconds off my goal, but still a huge PR so I was happy with it. Seth ran 32:28, and Craik was 34:00ish so shoutout to both of them. The team could be really good this year. Shoutout to the Lehi dudes because they definitely pulled me through those last couple miles, and I couldn't have done it without someone to run with. Afterwards cooled down about 2 miles with Ryan and Craik at the park.
