Arcadia 4x1600 today. We raced at like 10:00, or 11:00 Utah time which was fun, but kind of weird. Warmed up with the Timpanogos dudes then went and got situated. Jamison was first leg and ran a 4:20, then handed off to me. At this point we were just a little bit off of Great Oak and the Woodlands, and I made the mistake of trying to immediately close the gap. My first 400 was a 60, which was way too fast, then my next was a 66. 2:06 is a bit faster then I can handle right now and at this point the top teams took off and I faded into no mans land. I had nobody to run with and was feeling the first two laps and ended up running a 4:30. Pretty bad. Anyways Justin ran pretty similarly to what I did and ran a 4:29, then Zack brought us home in 4:18. We got 10th, which wasn't too bad looking at the teams who beat us, and we still averAged 4:24's so not too bad Of a day for us, but we could've done better if Justin and I had raced smarter, oh well. |
