Not the most exciting run but it went by quick.

Song of the day: Powderfinger - Neil Young
Tue, 28 May 2019 06:00:00 Mon, May 27, 2019 http://Galen.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-27-2019.html
Nice memorial day trail run with Will today. We drove up to the dry canyon parking lot and headed north on the BST over to Battlecreek where we cruised up to the falls. Perfect day for a run, and it's extremely green right now.

Song of the day: Keep the Change - Mattiel
Mon, 27 May 2019 06:00:00 Fri, May 24, 2019 http://Galen.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-24-2019.html
Ran out to state street and then went back to the usual route that me and Will always do. Felt pretty good.

Song of the day: Nine pound hammer - Merle Travis
Fri, 24 May 2019 06:00:00 Wed, May 22, 2019 http://Galen.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-22-2019.html
Same as yesterday with three hospital laps, but took the long way to get there by going up to state street first. Stomache felt not great, but got through it well enough. Saw my cousin-in-law coaching soccer when I got there which was fun.

Afterwards did 100 pushups, 50 pullups, and core.

Song of the day: Broken Cowboy - Jesse Woods
Wed, 22 May 2019 06:00:00 Tue, May 21, 2019 http://Galen.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-21-2019.html
Today I ran over to the hospital, did three laps then headed back. About a mile in I realized I might be in big trouble if I didn't find a bathroom very soon, and just as I was giving up hope I found a portapotty that was not there yesterday by one of the soccer fields. Check mate aetheists. After that I felt fan-f****ing-tastic and cruised the last few miles at a much quicker pace than anything I've run in a few months.

Afterwards did some range of motion and stretching, then did 100 pushups and like 25 pullups.

Song of the day: Sitting Outside - Sage Ducote (shoutout to the former blogger)
Tue, 21 May 2019 06:00:00 Mon, May 20, 2019 http://Galen.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-20-2019.html
First official day of marathon training ! Just did a few grass laps at lakeside with 4x100m strides afterwards. Didn't feel great, but that was to be expected with my lack of training the last few months. I'm gonna ease back into it over the next month and then start hitting more mileage and tougher workouts once July rolls around. The goal is to run under 2:40 at the St George marathon in October, so I've got a ways to go fitness wise but I know its doable. I'm feeling super motivated and wrote out a training plan that I think can get me into killer shape over the next four and a half months.

Afterwards did 100 pushups, 50 pullups on the hangboard, and 15 min of core.

Song of the day: Dern Kala - Khruangbin

Mon, 20 May 2019 06:00:00
