Good run this morning. Woke up at like 10:30 so it was a bit hot but not too bad. Ran down to the Mcleod creek trail and took it for a few miles. Afterwards did 4x100 strides.

Last day in Park City, did a 70 minute run. Went on a few single track trails I found that kind of switchbacked up the mountain until I was over kind of by Deer Valley. Really pretty run with lots of hills.

Freedom run 10k today! Got to the race and warmed up for about 10 minutes then headed to the line with Jamison and coach. All the Lehi guys were there, as well as Jiree and Jiraa so I figured the 16-19 age group would be competitive. Was thinking of running conservative the first few miles, but when the gun went off I decided to just go for it and see what kind of shape i'm in. There was the lead pack a bit ahead of me with all of the college runners in it, and then the high school guys in a pack behind me a little ways. I ran by myself the whole first mile, came through in 5:06 then a kid from California came up and passed me so I just tucked in behind him for the next mile. Mile two was also 5:06. At this point another guy with a man bun came up and ran with us. Mile three was 5:12, so 15:24 for 3 miles. Here the California guy dropped off and I just tried to hang on to man bun guy. Mile 4 was 5:13 I think. At this point I was really starting to hurt and the slight uphill on the turnaround was killing me. Coming back around I saw I had a huge gap on everyone besides Connor, and it motivated me to keep pushing. Mile 5 was 5:30 then we turned up onto the last uphill mile to the finish. I was dying and just tried to hold Connor off, but with about 300 to go he passed me and I just kinda gave up. Finished in 33:14 for 8th place, and second in my age division. Last mile was like 5:53 haha, but overall I was very happy with the race. Shoutout to everyone who ran, twas a most excellent time.

Hot run by myself on Bonneville Shoreline. Just went out for 30 minutes then turned around. Calves were super tight from yesterday, so I kept it nice and easy. Afterwards did 4x100 strides.

Also got AP test scores back, I got a 3 in Lit and Spanish, and a 4 in Art.

Was busy all day, then was at Will's house until 10 for a ping pong tournament, so I didn't end up leaving on my run until 10:20. Did Alpine loop and it felt rather nice. My calves are finally back to normal so this run was a lot more enjoyable, and the temperature was perfect. Did strides when I got back.

Actually was able to go to practice this morning! There was a bunch of people gone so it was just me, seth, Craik, the Bradshaws, Laurens brother, and a new kid. We did black trail with timberline loop, then dumpster. I was only supposed to go 50 minutes today, but it was so nice running with other people I decided to just finish the run with them. 4x100 strides after. While we were doing dumpster at the end Caleb and I found a cool ball thing someone threw away so we kept it.

Went camping last night, then went straight to practice in the morning. It was just Craik, Justin, Seth, and I, so we did Hogs for the first time in a long while. Going up I felt really good, and on the long gradual uphill part I dropped them and waited at the gate. The whole trail is flat and wide now which was actually really nice on the part that used to be super rocky. When we got to the bottom of the trail we found an overgrown path that we took to avoid getting yelled at for trespassing in the construction zone. The trail went to this field, and in the field was a freaking viking seige tank thing. It was built on using the frame of a small bus or something and was decked out, and it even had a real crossbow mounted to the top. Words don't do this thing justice it was so cool. On our way out at the gate there was a security guard who yelled at us for a while, and threatened to arrest us but after a while he let us go in peace. Overall a very fun run, and we found out that Legacy Park is a Pokémon gym so thats also way cool.

Was feeling better around 11 so I headed to the track to meet everyone for the LPN4. Warmed up for a mile, then got going. Felt strong the whole race and ended up winning, outkicking Justin in the final meters. We didn't get an official time, but we both felt like we were right around our PR's so I'm calling it a 55.

Later ran down to the quilted bear to meet Ali.

Ran with the team this morning. We ran down to Jamison's house to say our final goodbyes before he leaves on his mission, and paced the girls in a tempo on our way at about 6:30 pace. After we said goodbye we ran back to the park on the Alpine loop, then finished up with some barefoot and strides.

Later went up to Ogden to figure some stuff out for college. Got my schedule done and I'm really looking forward to the season!

AM- Slept outside with Emma, and got up and ran when the sun came up at around 6. Just 3.1 easy miles on my canyon road loop, then did abs when I got home.

PM-  Headed out at 5, so it was hot but there some clouds that made it bearable. Did Alpine loop, and I did it pretty fast. I was planning on taking it super easy, but I ended up averaging 6:28 pace. It felt pretty easy tho so that's a good sign. Got back to the house at 50 minutes, so I did 10 minutes barefoot at the orchard, with 4x100 strides. Felt really good today.

First real workout today, 5x1000. I slept outside and woke up and headed to the track at about 5:45. I wasn't supposed to be doing these too fast, and I hit the times pretty perfect for the first four. Felt smooth and controlled the whole time, which makes for an enjoyable workout. Times were 3:15, 3:14, 3:12, 3:10, 3:00. Last one was a bit quick, but it didn't feel like I was straining too hard so i figured I was ok. Overall very pleased with how it turned out.

summited pfeifferhorn this morning with Will. We ran all the parts that were runnable so it was a really good workout. Super pretty as always, it's probably my favorite summit to do in the wasatch. Red and white pine lakes were breathtaking as usual, and on the final ridge I got within ten feet of a mountain goat haha.

Alpine loop for the third time this week, it just goes by faster than other runs for some reason. Got back and ran to the hill by my house and did 4x100 hill strides. Felt good today.

Went to practice today, but when I got there they had already left because apparently they run at 6:30 now. Thanks for telling me everyone. Anyways it actually turned out for the best because Marc is home from his mission and he came at 7. He did the first 40 minutes with me, and he is actually in pretty good shape. He was able to run a good amount while he was out, so we averaged 7:05 pace and he didn't seem to be sttruggling too bad, and there were some pretty good hills thrown in there because we did 5 mile loop then over to his house. I dropped Marc off then went and started up Hogs and turned down to the reservoir thing, and ran back with Timberline loop added on. Averaged 6:30ish pace for the last half which was even more hilly so I was happy with it. Afterwards did 6x100 strides with a 100 jog inbetween each. I'm runnning the Deseret News 10k on Monday, and I'm looking for a time in the mid 31:00 range.

Deseret News 10k today. Drove up last night and hammocked about 400 meters from the start line with Seth and Craik. Woke up at about 5:15, took down everything, then got a pretty good warmup in. Gun went off and I made sure to get out pretty hard. Hit the downhill and got in a little pack with Connor and Seth. First mile was 4:40, which was a bit fast but not problematically fast. Next couple miles switched off leading with Seth and Connor, hit 9:42 at two miles, and 15:00 at 3. At this point Ryan Raff caught up to us and helped push us through the next mile, and hit like 20:10 at four miles. I don't remember our 5 mile split, but Seth had dropped off at this point and I was just trying to hang on to Connor and Ryan the best I could. I held on until the last stretch which is like 1200 long and I was hurting pretty bad. Ryan pulled away pretty good, and Connor ended up beating me by about the same amount as the freedom run. Finished in 32:01, so two seconds off my goal, but still a huge PR so I was happy with it. Seth ran 32:28, and Craik was 34:00ish so shoutout to both of them. The team could be really good this year. Shoutout to the Lehi dudes because they definitely pulled me through those last couple miles, and I couldn't have done it without someone to run with. Afterwards cooled down about 2 miles with Ryan and Craik at the park.

Brutal run today haha. I left at the hottest part of the day, it was a warm 100 degrees for most of the run. Also my calves were absolutely destroyed from yesterday, so I took it nice and easy the whole time. Did Alpine loop and stopped at every single place where there could be a drinking fountain to make sure I didm't get dehydrated. Stopped for a sec on the bridge thing kind of by the junction, and had a staring contest with a deer that was chillin down in the dry riverbed. He won but I put up a good fight.

Got to go to practice today which is always very nice. We did the Hogs/suncrest run thing. It was just Seth, Kaleb, Caleb, Justin and me for most of the run and it was a very good time. Did 4x100 strides when I got back.

Went to practice today and they were doing a hill workout. These hills are pretty much the most brutal workout I know of so I just did one with them and then headed out on a distance run with Will. The hill is 666 meters long and alternates between varying steepness throughout. Anyways Will and I did Middle Spring and it was a good time, although there was a crazy amount of bikers today. Afterwards did a few barefoot laps at the park and 6x100 strides. Going on like a 20 minute run later tonight.

3.1 miles on canyon road loop at about 11:30 cuz I went and hiked up to Lake Mary all afternoon.

Long run today with a three mile tempo in the middle. I ran for 3ish miles until I got to the canal and started my tempo heading west. Didn't eat great before, but I got through the workout and hit my split in the range I was supposed too. Did it in 16:07 with splits of 5:20, 5:23, 5:24. The last mile was real tough cuz I finished with the uphill on the other side of the big dip over by smiths. After I finished the tempo I went another mile then got off the canal and finished up my miles to the quilted bear and got a ride home with Ali :)
